  2. To me, $55 billions of leveraged buyout seem just completely crazy. It’s even worse when you consider the videogame industry is undergoing a full crisis. I guess the silver lining would be that this might invert the trend of layoffs, shutdowns and general divesting from the industry, but that would require thinking that these people know what they’re doing and are not just getting into $55 billions of debt out of sheer idiocy.

    And I’m afraid I’m leaning on the idiocy here.

    Especially after the Saudi already gutted Embracer by pulling out last minute off of a $2 billion acquisition. Guess they figured those guys were too cheap.

    This is about information and about grift. It gets data on users, and it’s an opaque way to move money from one dictatorship to another.

  6. Boycotting EA has been the easiest boycott of my life, and it sounds like it will continue to be the easiest boycott of my life. My favorite was when they delisted themselves from Steam. I hope they do that again.

  9. Does anyone have theories as to what they plan to do with a private EA? From a business perspective, why would Kushner and Saudi Arabia be interested ina video game company?
