I was scrolling reddit a couple days ago and someone asked why “European americans specify their ancestors country of origin while black Americans only say they are African Americans” and everyone was just reasoning away because of the uprooting of the ancestors of the African Americans. And while that is of course true, it just struck me as funny that everyone pretended that “European Americans” are so close to their roots. Like come on, a cheap DNA test online and coming up with ancestor numbers in the one digit percentages to make you feel special is NOT the same as actually having any connection with our European countries. Like for real, 3 words in Italian should be possible if you run around and call yourself Italian. and they got so incredibly defensive that even non “white americans” started defending their Ameritards like I was being totally unreasonable and one even claimed to know more about european history then me completely out of context. wow, just wow. and we rely on that stupid people for our safety. Hopefully Europe gets it’s shit together soon
Now I understand:
– All jokes about Italians in American movies and tv shows
– why they were discriminated against and honestly I’m surprised they still aren’t
