  1. Wouldn’t it be just another form of DigID like we dutch already use? I can understand not wanting shady companies handle this information, yet a digital id aka DigID system like we already have as a concept isn’t bad in and of itself? Its actually pretty useful and nice in my experience. Or what am i missing here that makes the Brits rebel over it…

  2. You know it’s bad when you’ve got all the parties in Northern Ireland agreeing on something

  3. I fret a little at the discussion around this. In Finland we have a physical ID card and we use our social security numbers for all kinds of things. It’s not a big deal. It’s actually very convenient and it means all government services (and others) operate far more smoothly than in the UK.

It is odd to me that people think they can have all the benefits of citizenship without proving from time to time that they are in fact citizens.

As an additional note, it is the case that 11% of the land in England and Wales is unaccounted for. I have no idea how you run a country when you don’t even know who owns 11% of the land.

  4. I’m not inherently against this, but with the way the internet restrictions have been implemented they’ve shown to be either stupid and cheap or insidious with their actions.

Starmer has lost this young person’s trust.
