Jaffa Cakes have fully lost the plot, who wants spicy cake?

  1. The longstanding existence of various spiced cakes suggests that there are are people who want them

  2. Hot honey is a fad but I’d say it’s a good fad, because it is really nice.

  3. I’d try them, but I do agree on the why. Now give me a spiced orange for the festive times and I’d be all over them.

  4. One of my friends works in food development and he always knows what the next flavour trend is going to be about 12 months before, because people sit around and decide what to push. He told me about the chocolate orange revival and the 2020s second tiramisu-nami. So when I see hot homey everywhere I assume some boardroom decided on the trend a year or so ago.

  5. The unthinkable tyranny of new items on the menu that you are under no obligation whatsoever to buy.

  6. The hot honey pork belly slices are always reduced in lidl

  7. I like hot honey and spicy food, but I found these disgusting. Tried one, forced a second one to be sure, then threw the rest away.

  8. I’m sure half of all confectionary we take for granted was met with “who wants this?” until it turned out that the “who” was a lot of people.

  9. It’s one of those limited edition products people will buy once just to try

  10. I like to bring these to meetings where I don’t want to discuss whatever is on the agenda.

  11. Tried them along with the yuzu lemon ones. Lemon ones were nice but the honey was pretty rank.

  12. they’ve been pimping the advert on Reddit for months so this is just helping a marketing campaign

  13. The question is, people, how do you eat yours? Nibble the outside then eat one side of the centre than the other or are you an absolute animal and just chomp the gits?

  14. We had the lemon ones in at my work and I know lemon is a common cake flavour but you just shouldn’t mess with the classic Jaffa.

  15. They are horrible, though I don’t mind the cola ones.

  16. I’ve tried the cola and lemon ones but didn’t fancy the hot honey usually happy to try a few things

  17. These are good. Makes me wish they just made honey Jaffa cakes without the kick. Best thing about them is that the kick (I have not heard tolerance) means I only eat one at a time instead of the whole pack.

  18. Me, I do, as it turns out – was expecting them to be grim like all the other alternate flavours but I wolfed these bad boys – love them

  19. They’re actually quite nice. I was surprised when a colleague gave me one.

Still prefer the cherry ones, though.

  20. At least they are not Dubai Chocolate flavoured.

  21. Hot honey, Dubai, angel-hair, it’s the next Facebook mum trend.
