Key Responsibilities & Job Description
DIGITALEUROPE is seeking a dynamic and motivated Policy Officer to contribute to our work on digital economy policy. This role focuses on key topics including consumer protection, notably the Digital Fairness Act, and copyright, including copyright levies and the intersection of copyright and AI.
The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of EU digital policy and be familiar with the key issues and files relevant to the areas listed. They will also have excellent organisational skills, strong communication skills, experience in policy advocacy and a desire to learn.
In this role, you will help shape the future positioning of the digital sector at an important juncture for Europe, and ensure that DIGITALEUROPE’s 2030 manifesto proposals are taken on board by the new European Commission.
Responsibilities include:
Drafting and helping to facilitate common industry positions on data economy issues, coordinating input from our membership;
Leading working group meetings with members;
Leading the engagement with key officials in the EU institutions on data economy policies and building important alliances with external stakeholders to support our policy goals
Key requirements:
Experience in EU policy work
Knowledge in and hands-on experience of digital policy
Proven ability to engage with policymakers to promote a common vision
Excellent research, drafting and writing skills
Ability to communicate with members, sometimes in pressure situations
Strong presentation skills, including experience presenting to members and external audiences
Organized and comfortable with managing multiple tasks; can work independently, prioritise, and meet deadlines
User and technical knowledge on AI and Data modelling is a a plus
Desire to learn and contribute
Enjoy working in a multicultural environment and you have a high team spirit;
Proficiency in English; knowledge of other EU languages is an asset.
