When the European Poker Tour (EPT) returns to Malta for the first time since 2016, it won’t just be about the cards. Running October 1–12 at Casino Malta, the festivals offers players and their guests a full slate of activities designed to make the stop as memorable away from the tables as it is on them.

From beach parties to bowling nights, padel tournaments to wellness sessions, PokerStars has lined up a schedule that lets players mix, mingle and unwind in one of Europe’s most vibrant destinations. And on October 10, the action will also turn to a worthy cause with the addition of a €400 charity tournament supporting the SiGMA Foundation’s school-building projects in Uganda.

Parties, Sports, and Wellness

The off-the-felt line-up kicks off on October 2 with a pair of welcome parties at Paranga Beach Club. First, there’s the exclusive Silver Pass meet-up, followed by an open invitation for all players to enjoy drinks, snacks, a DJ and the perfect start to their Malta adventure.

Those looking to stay active will have plenty of options. Padel Party returns on October 4 at the IK Padel Village, while football fans can take to the pitch on October 8 at Luxol Sport Club. Bowling (October 5), darts (October 8), and laser tag (October 10) round out the competitive fun.

Everyone knows poker players love balance, and those looking to find their equilibrium will be pleased to know that the EPT Wellness Community will run daily from October 3–10 at the InterContinental Hotel.

Sessions include running clubs, yoga, functional fitness and breathwork which has become an increasingly popular routine among pros who recognize the importance of mental and physical health during a long series.

A Chance to Give Back

The highlight away from the felt comes October 10 at 6 p.m. with the €400 EPT Malta Charity Tournament, where €100 from every buy-in and re-entry will go directly to the SiGMA Foundation. Players can also re-buy and top up, with half of top-up funds supporting the initiative.

“The support of the team and the players will directly contribute to changing the lives of hundreds of children for the better,” said a SiGMA Foundation spokesperson.

“Poker players are a global community,” PokerStars’ Cedric Billot added. “Tournaments like this are an important reminder that we have a collective responsibility to support and develop other communities across the world, beyond our own bubble.”

Proceeds will help fund a school development project in Kasese, Uganda, providing classrooms, staff housing, kitchen and bathroom facilities. The effort will not only allow local children to continue their education beyond kindergarten but also create employment opportunities for builders, contractors and teachers in the area.
