WANA (Oct 01) – Brigadier General Pilot Aziz Nasirzadeh, Iran’s Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, arrived in Ankara today (Wednesday, October 01, 2025). Upon arrival, he stated that enhancing military and defense cooperation between Tehran and Ankara is one of the main objectives of his two-day visit.

Responding to an official invitation from his Turkish counterpart, Nasirzadeh said: “We have come to Turkey with a high-ranking military delegation, and during this trip, we will hold meetings with defense, military, and security officials of the country.”

He described Iran and Turkey as “two influential Islamic countries in regional and international developments as well as in the Muslim world,” adding: “Without doubt, bilateral cooperation, particularly in the defense sector, will contribute to stability and security in the region and along our borders. With more than 500 kilometers of shared border, boosting military ties is a necessity.”

During the visit, the Iranian defense minister is scheduled to meet with Turkey’s defense minister and other senior military officials.
