Strengthening the presence of Syros, Paros and Kimolos in the Dutch market is a strategic choice of the three Municipalities and, in this context, a familiarization trip to the islands was organized a few days ago.
The guest was the Dutch blogger Kirsten, Zijderveld who maintains the travel site www.mediterraneanonmymind.nl, while also collaborating with women’s magazines in the Netherlands such as LINDA.nl (circulation 133,000 issues – average reach: 811,000 people, 594,000 followers on Facebook and 797,000 on Instagram), FLAIR.nl (138,000 followers on Facebook and 41,000 on Instagram) and Margriet (161,000 followers on Facebook and 37,000 on Instagram).
mediterraneanonmymind focuses on authentic Mediterranean destinations and with this logic, Kimolos was chosen, as part of the campaign to highlight its authenticity, which has already been broadcast on the Dutch media griekenland net. However, because the Dutch tourist market is important for Greece because it offers opportunities for increasing tourist inflows, especially in destinations that offer nature and cultural experiences, the familiarization trip included Syros and Paros, two islands that have the potential to improve the satisfaction of Dutch tourists, focusing on their specific needs and preferences. All the more so since Dutch tourists are looking for new and authentic experiences, which can lead to the development of alternative forms of tourism in Greece.
Paros, Kimolos and Syros are three distinct tourist “personalities”. However, their common element is the quality that is sought after by the selective foreign public who are looking for experiences and alternative activities, especially outside the main tourist season.
This specific trip, organized by the three Municipalities in collaboration with MTC GROUP and sponsored by SEAJETS, was supported by local professionals on the islands and is part of the overall strategy of selectively approaching specific categories of audience from foreign markets.
