4. Be interesting to see if this actually translates to production. It takes years to get new projects going and if a company is worried that permits might get revoked after mid terms or the next elections, they might be slow to act. Plus, I think oil prices have been plummeting which doesn’t encourage new production.

5. So the government is only shut down for the people and corporations still are moving. Got it.

6. Doesn’t matter. Nobody’s working new permits anyway. Investment is on the way down with all the uncertainty in the markets. Waiting on OPEC to turn loose all the production increases.

7. These permits take months anyway. A shutdown isn’t going to affect much and I work as a developer on solar projects with multiple permits out right now. In fact I worked with a consulting firm to submit one today to the USACE

8. But are new rigs being built? Drill baby drill is rhetoric. Besides what company will want to pay for new permits and rigs just to see oil and gas prices go down like tRump wants? Makes no sense.

13. The fun thing is that with the tariffs on things the need to actually drill wells, and trying to force them into overproduction, he’s fucking the oil companies too.

14. Drill baby drill will never happen. Why would an oil company spend capital to drill wells, increase supply and lower price and profits. There is a reason this idiot filed bankruptcy 6 times.
