Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie is making headlines for raising over £1 million for charity The Anti-Slavery Collective.

Amazing! Tell me more

Princess Eugenie co-founded The Anti-Slavery Collective with her friend Julia de Boinville, after a trip to Kolkata became an emotional revelation.

During the 2012 trip, the Princess and Julia met Aloka Mitra, a social activist who urged the pair to take up the mantle, fighting against modern slavery.

Does slavery still exist?

Slavery absolutely still exists, though it often takes a different form than the slavery you were taught about in history class.

Despite this, there are more slaves today than at any other time in history – in fact, the Anti-Slavery Collective estimates that 1 in 150 people are victims of trafficking or modern slavery.

What does the Anti-Slavery Collective do?

The Anti-Slavery Collective was born in 2017, after five years of campaigning, researching, and meeting with survivors and activists.

The charity’s three pillars, Raising Awareness, Education and Responsible Business, represent the way forward to a future where everyone is free, and no one is enslaved. The charity represents a collaborative effort between NGOs, experts, survivors and more, to find the best way through to a safe future for all.

Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie raised £1 million for The Anti-Slavery Collective at their inaugural Force for Freedom Gala. This money will go towards continuing the incredible work of the charity, funding research and action alike, for a world without slavery.
