WANA (Oct 04) – Iranian judicial authorities announced that the death sentences of six individuals accused of membership in a separatist armed group and involvement in multiple terrorist operations in Khuzestan Province were carried out at dawn today.
According to Iranian state media, the individuals had been charged with carrying out armed attacks and bombings in various parts of Khuzestan over the past several years. Their cases went through judicial proceedings and were ultimately upheld by the Supreme Court before the executions were implemented.
Reports stated that the defendants admitted to involvement in the killing of several security officers, as well as planning and executing operations such as the bombing of a gas station in Khorramshahr, armed attacks on banks, throwing grenades at a military facility, and opening fire on public places, including mosques.
Authorities also accused the group of collaborating with foreign intelligence services, including Israel’s Mossad. Iranian media reported that the group’s activities had repeatedly threatened the security and stability of citizens in Khuzestan in recent years.
