Ukrainian forces carried out neutralizing several drones in Denmark’s airspace during an experience exchange as part of the Ukrainian delegation’s visit.
“Our specialists in countering attack drones launched a Sting drone into the air, which accurately destroyed the Danish ‘Banshee’,”
– General Staff of Ukraine
It was announced that representatives from several European countries were invited to the destruction demonstration, giving them the opportunity to see firsthand the effectiveness of Ukrainian solutions in countering aerial threats.
The downing was captured on video, and after the demonstration, Ukrainian drone pilots received dozens of questions from foreign colleagues.
What Led Up To It
Earlier it was reported that Denmark had launched joint training “Wings of Defense,” in which Ukrainian military personnel participate together with Danish colleagues. They are practicing tasks to counter attack drones.
The training began amid escalation: in recent weeks drone activity has been observed in Denmark, Poland and Romania, as well as incursions into Estonia’s airspace by Russian aircraft.
On September 27 in Denmark it was confirmed that last night unknown drones were spotted over several Ministry of Defense facilities. Also on September 25, unknown drones flew over the Danish airports in Aalborg, Esbjerg, Sonderborg and over the Skrydstrup air base.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russian tankers could be used to launch and control drones over European cities, but Danish intelligence services have not yet confirmed Russia’s involvement in the incidents in Denmark.
Such events underscore the importance of strengthening airspace surveillance and active knowledge exchange among partner countries in the field of air defense.
