The White House is looking into a case where a man convicted of killing a six-year-old in Kentucky was released early, according to Karoline Leavitt.
KENTUCKY, USA — The White House has confirmed it is looking into a central Kentucky case after a man convicted in a brutal 2015 stabbing of a six-year-old boy was released from prison early.
Ronald Exantus, 40, had been sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2018 killing Logan Tipton and injuring members of Logan’s family during a home invasion in Versailles, Kentucky.
Exantus was found “not guilty of murder by reason of insanity” and “guilty but mentally ill” on assault charges.
Investigators said Exantus had driven from Indianapolis on Dec. 7, 2015, before breaking into the Tipton family home while they were asleep.
Detectives found it was a random killing.
According to court records, Exantus was released on Oct. 1 after serving less than seven years of his 20-year sentence.

Records also state Exantus is out on supervised parole, but that will end in June 2026.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt posted on X saying, “I can confirm the White House is looking into this. It’s wholly unacceptable for a child killer to walk free after just several years in prison.
It’s unclear what the White House will do since Exantus was not federally charged in the crime.
