  8. I have a suggestion for a protest that could involve all of us:

    CANCEL CHRISTMAS SPENDING

    We need a big action, and we can’t quit our jobs. A general strike would throw many people out of work.

    So instead, we could refuse to spend on Christmas. We could focus on hand-made gifts instead – bake! As expensive as food is, that would be a meaningful gesture.

    The choice is already being made for many families with kids. Others who do have money could choose to cut back, and could support local craftspeople.

    Christmas spending fuels the economy. How about NO

  16. Paywalled, ugh. From my estimation, those who voted for Trump wanted the typical conservative republican president. What they got was a conman that manipulates everything in the favor of his rich “friends,” until they piss him off (think fElon Musk.) They also liked the fact that he is willing to hurt all the brown skinned people, but they didn’t think that through to realize how it will hurt *them* ultimately. Now they no like? Oh well, suffer! They voted for this and are putting the rest of us (who had the foresight to expect it) through it, so enjoy the conman you voted for!

    It is a level of stupidity that is impenetrable and defies explanation. I will say this, these racists put their money and health where their mouths are: they’re getting hammered on healthcare, taxes (“tariffs”), inflation, but they love seeing brown people getting beaten up.

    Stupidity and hate are very expensive.

    Close the rural hospital, shut down the schools and make the women do all the work around the house. Make healthcare and groceries and vacations unaffordable.

    So exhausting trying to convince them this kind of society sucks and they decide to vote it in anyways. So embrace the full suck of a society ruled by those same multi billionaires that dont care how unaffordable things get (cause 100$ or 100k$ for hospital visits doesnt matter to elon)
