Princess Beatrice recently made a major career move that seemed to end all speculation about her role in the royal family, but there seems to be more to the story.
It appears that Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s eldest daughter “lost all hope” in gaining a role at the palace, and that’s why she made the leap into the private sector, per the Daily Mail. Sources told the British media outlet that Beatrice was “keen to help ease the burden on King Charles and Prince William by carrying out more royal engagements.”

Amid the monarch and Kate Middleton’s cancer battle in 2024, that request was considered because Charles knew he needed “to boost the number of working royals.” Unfortunately, it looks like her father and mother’s Jeffrey Epstein connection officially closed the door on future palace opportunities.
“Beatrice does want to be a working Royal, and she wants to do Royal events to help her uncle because she’d enjoy them and she would be good at the job,” a royal insider shared. “Charles apparently appreciates this . . . There had at one stage been a feeling that Bea could have been lined up one day. She’s never put a foot wrong, don’t forget – and she shouldn’t be punished for the sins of her father. But the King’s courtiers are concerned Andrew could try to ‘get in via the back door’ by exerting influence over her.”
Beatrice must have seen the writing on the wall because she launched a new tech business to occupy her time instead of the royal appearances she had on behalf of her uncle.
Royal expert Phil Dampier told the Daily Mail in May 2024 that he assumed that Beatrice and her younger sister, Eugenie, would “take on some non-controversial roles with worthy causes like hospitals, schools, and even the military.” It was reported by OK! Magazine that it was Kate Middleton who put a squash on the cousins’ busy calendar.
“For William and Kate, an alliance between Harry and Meghan and Beatrice and Eugenie is a huge worry. They sense that Beatrice and Eugenie feel that, as virtual outcasts themselves, they have far more in common with Harry and Megan than with any other part of the family,” author Tom Quinn told the outlet.
He added, “The situation is made worse by the fact that the senior royals’ main asset – Kate herself — is effectively out of action while she continues her treatment for cancer.”
