October the 6th, 2025 – Croatia Airlines has recently received a brand new 127-seat Airbus A220-100, which makes it novel compared to the typical 149-seat aircraft of this type.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, Croatia Airlines recently welcomed the seventh of a total of fifteen brand new Airbus A220 aircraft, with which the company is renewing and modernising its entire fleet. This is the first new aircraft of the A220-100 type in the Croatia Airlines fleet, bearing the registration marks 9A-CAO and named Dubrovnik.

The first new A220-100 arrived directly from the Airbus factory in Mirabel, Canada, as did all six new A220-300 aircraft with 149 passenger seats that have been included in the fleet of the Croatian national airline so far.

Jasmin Bajić, President of the Management Board of Croatia Airlines, says that what is particularly interesting is that the newest aircraft has the largest number of seats compared to all aircraft of this type.

“Croatia Airlines’ first A220-100, which will bear the name of the Croatian tourist pearl Dubrovnik, will further strengthen our flight network, provide passengers and crews with a first-class flight experience, and at the same time contribute to a more sustainable business for our company. Thank you to our partners – manufacturer Airbus and lessor Air Lease Corporation – for the quality cooperation and support in the implementation of the entire fleet renewal, the largest strategic project in the history of Croatia Airlines,” said Bajić.

The entire Croatia Airlines fleet renewal project is planned to be completed in 2027, when the domestic carrier’s fleet should have a total of fifteen brand new A220 aircraft, of which thirteen will be A220-300s and two will be A220-100s.
