Prince William and King Charles allegedly aren’t speaking.
His Majesty is upset about William’s AppleTV+ interview with Eugene Levy.
William said he hopes to “change” the monarchy when he’s King.
Welp, there’s new royal drama for us to go over. Prince William and King Charles reportedly aren’t speaking due to Charles allegedly being less than thrilled about William’s candid AppleTV+ interview with Eugene Levy.
Rob Shuter’s ShuterScoop reports that—per royal insiders—Charles and William’s relationship has “collapsed into silence” and they’re not calling, texting, or meeting. Apparently Charles is largely upset about William’s remarks on his childhood, not to mention his comments about reforming the monarchy.
While speaking about Prince George, William said “I hope we don’t go back to some of the practices in the past that Harry and I had to grow up in – and I’ll do everything I can to make sure we don’t regress in that situation.” He then confirmed that the monarchy might shift directions when he’s king, saying “I think it’s safe to say that change is on my agenda. Change for good. And I embrace that and I enjoy that change—I don’t fear it. That’s the bit that excites me, is the idea of being able to bring some change. Not overly radical change, but changes that I think that need to happen.”
As for Charles’ reaction, a source says “The King sees it as betrayal, not honesty,” while another notes “It’s not just family tension—it’s about the Crown itself.”
Apparently, a PR “peace walk” is maaaybe in the works, but “trust is shattered” so…guess we’ll see what happens!
