Unidentified drones spotted again over airport in Norway: details of incident

On Monday, October 6, unidentified drones were spotted over the Norwegian capital, causing Oslo Airport to temporarily suspend operations in the morning.

This was reported by Reuters.

“One or more aircraft were waiting in the air until the situation was clarified. No aircraft departed for alternative airports,” said a spokesman for Avinor, the operator of most of Norway’s civilian airports.

The police informed that around midnight, law enforcement officers received a report that a Norwegian Air pilot allegedly saw three to five drones in the airspace near the airport.

According to Avinor, no further disruptions to traffic were observed.

Reuters notes that Europe has repeatedly suffered from chaos due to drone surveillance and air incursions in recent times.

Earlier, in the Netherlands , one of the main runways was temporarily closed due to the appearance of a drone near Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport. The incident created a serious threat to flight safety.

As reported, on the evening of September 30 , an unidentified unmanned aerial vehicle was spotted flying near the airport in the Norwegian city of Brønneisund.

As a reminder, on the evening of September 25, Aalborg Airport, located in North Jutland, was temporarily closed due to the recorded presence of unknown drones in its airspace.

By the way, on the evening of October 2 , the appearance of unknown drones was recorded in the area of Munich airport . Due to the threat of an air incident, the airport temporarily suspended operations.
