‘I find it a very spiritual and very intense emotional reconnection, I suppose, these environments,’ says the Princess of Wales, who wrapped up in a beige woollen turtleneck, jacket and matching flat cap for the day out. ‘Not everyone has that same relationship, perhaps, with nature, but it is so, therefore, meaningful for me as a place to balance and find a sort of sense of peace and reconnection in what is otherwise a very busy world.’
This Summer, many of the Princess of Wales’ public-facing engagements were held to support her work with the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, including a meeting with two illustrators who worked on a series of animated short films highlighting the importance of childhood education.
‘Early childhood has been recognised as the golden opportunity to build strong foundations for future life, health and happiness,’ Kate said of the project. ‘Core social and emotional skills are essential in forming healthy relationships and are fundamental building blocks that can carry us through life. That is why we want to raise the awareness of, and celebrate, the extraordinary value of everyday moments of connection which matter more than ever in a rapidly changing world.’
