Federal judge rips Trump admin for open defiance: ‘Direct contravention of my order’

1. If the deployment directive to the military is illegal, isn’t it also illegal for the military to comply with an illegal directive?

   And here is the MO of the Trump administration: they don’t directly go against court orders. But rather they exploit technicalities and loopholes in the orders to violate the spirit and intention of the order, while not explicitly violating the word of the order. The intent of this order was clear: there is no cause to dispatch the Nation Guard to Portland. Because the order said “Oregon National Guard,” they decided that they could use a different states NG, even though the reasoning of the order had nothing to do with the state of origin of the NG.

6. Trump doesn’t care if you indict him for crimes. His mission is accomplished. He is richer than ever and will gladly hand over the economic disaster he created to someone else. Knowing he is going to lose bigly in any fair trial, he will create chaos until the end.

9. Autocratic dictatorships (like the U.S. is now) do not pay attention to Court Orders. They sneer at them.
   It is the nature of autocracy.
   The Supreme Court turns a blind eye and allows the dictator to do it.
   The Legislative Branch cheers it on.
   Is there anybody who is so blind that they have not yet comprehended that the U.S. is now a fascist autocracy?

10. Excellent move. Throwing down the gauntlet. Unlikely to work but needs doing and helps inform the public.

12. Can we all say “a Trump appointed judge ruled against him citing laws and the constitution in her ruling.” Thank you. This is not an “activist judge” but she sounds pissed!

13. Trump knows that the answer to “Who’s gonna make me?” is “Not a damned soul.”

14. Why wouldn’t Trump do this? He’s demonstrated that SCOTUS is in his pocket, and have become a rubber stamp on his dictatorship. The federal courts and judges are just a minor speed bump to him.

15. Are they are going to burn the judge’s house…like they did the judge from South Carolina?

16. Reminder that Trump’s DOJ hatchetman Emil Bove told federal prosecutors to ignore the courts. And, now he’s a federal judge (thanks, MAGA!). Of course they defied the court. It’s what they want to do.
