1. Interesting title but Jesus the presidential elections are a shamble this time around.

   The three runners are/were:

   > Entirely unprepared landlord (who also dropped out because it was revealed he was scamming tenants) (Gavin)

   > Incredibly strange possibly emotionally devoid woman who supports fox hunting (Humphries)

   > Seemingly great candidate who has ended up being your stereotypical internet leftist who thinks we should all hold hands with Russia and won’t condemn their war in Ukraine, or Hamas (Connolly)

   I’ll add to that last part the obvious ‘fuck Israel’ but let’s not pretend October 7th was some master act of resistance that struck at the IDF. The presidency is all optics anyway so I’ll probably vote for Connolly but Jesus we are strapped for good presidents this time around.

2. I feel the deadline is a bit strange? Connolly is left wing sure but she’s also a current TD, former leas-ceann comhairle (speaker of parliament), former mayor of Galway and a barrister
