Slovakia has reached an agreement with the United States on the construction of a new nuclear reactor, said Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, APA reports, citing US media.

According to him, the new nuclear reactor will be installed at the Jaslovske Bohunice nuclear facility in the west of the country and will have the capacity to produce more than 1,000 megawatts of energy.

It should be noted that Slovakia obtains more than 80% of its energy needs from nuclear facilities.
