The people of Luxembourg are getting used to a new era following the accession of Grand Duke Guillaume and Grand Duchess Stéphanie last Friday. And what better way to inspire a sense of familiarity with the nation’s new First Family than an adorable portrait? Such was the thinking of the Cour grand-ducale, which shared a snapshot of the new Grand Duke and Duchess, alongside their two young children, on the day of their accession.

The snapshot shows the family cosied up on what appears to be a park bench, all dressed in matching shades of blue. The new Grand Duchess Stéphanie wore her paisley Scapa Monica maxi dress (last seen on her outing for Luxembourg’s National Day celebrations in 2023), while Grand Duke Guillauime opted for a navy blazer and cream chinos.

As for the couple’s children, they looked sweet as ever. Prince Charles, the five-year-old heir to the throne (and Europe’s youngest heir), wore a smart ensemble by Tartine et Chocolat. The young Prince stole the show at the accession ceremony, delighting in the company of his grandmother, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, and winning comparisons to Prince Louis after he covered his ears at the sound of the military band. Charles’ brother, two-year-old Prince François, wore a shirt and linen dungarees, also from Tartine et Chocolat.
