Israel and Hamas resume Gaza ceasefire talks in Egypt • FRANCE 24 English
round of indirect talks between Hamas and Israeli negotiators in Egypt on the eve of the second anniversary of the October 7th attack. The latest push for peace after Hamas partially accepted a US proposal. Under the plan, Hamas would release the remaining 48 hostages within 3 days, around 20 of whom are still believed to be alive in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. Israeli residents say they remain hopeful for progress. watching this space along with everybody else. We’ve been I think I think we’ve been close to this juncture in the past and we’ve been optimistic and hopeful and then been disappointed. Um but what can we do except at the very least be hopeful? But there are still major sticking points for both Israel and Hamas to resolve in Donald Trump’s peace plan. It requires Hamas to disarm, which the group has consistently refused until a Palestinian state has been established. There’s also the question of the Israeli military’s withdrawal. The plan stating that the first stage would leave around 55% of Gaza under Israeli control. It gives no timeline for full Israeli pullback, something that Netanyahu’s government has never confirmed. President Donald Trump has piled pressure on both sides, telling Hamas to move quickly while ordering Israel to hold the bombardment of Gaza, a demand that’s fallen on the deaf ears of the Israeli government. We hope the delegation traveling to Shamal Shake will end this war. For two years, we have been in ruins with people displaced in the streets. For two years, we have been at war. For two years, we have been in ruins. I appeal to God to make the truce succeed because my God, the people are tired. Today, we appeal to God to end the suffering of the Palestinian people after this great destruction that we never expected. Washington says it hopes a deal between Hamas and Israel can be finalized early this week.
As the war in Gaza reaches its two-year mark, Israel and Hamas continue negotiations in Egypt. Talks are centered on a proposed ceasefire deal, which includes a partial Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and a hostage-prisoner exchange. US envoy Steve Witkoff and Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner are expected to join the discussions.

Enough of THE Games hamas. Release all hostages and leave gaza…NOW
Hamas always stabs Israel in the back.
They are so despicable that they even hold corpses hostage.
How can anyone be so perverse?
Will it be a dejavu of Qatar 😮😮😮
Cautiously optimistic because this war has gone on for far too long and the mass killing of Palestinian civilians needs to stop. But I worry how committed Netanyahu is to peace. Conflict with Palestine and Iran seem in his best interests when it comes to domestic politics. At the same time, it's the closest we've come in months. The deal as it stands is problematic and lies somewhere between a peace plan and a power play but time will tell.
Peace not possible without justice
Free usa from AIPAC
I bless Israel. Amen.
This ceasefire will be broken soon by Israel
Check out the hungry Palestinian kid in the video
I bless Israel too from holland❤❤❤
ISRAEL IS THE PROBLEM. Make Israel respect Internationally recognized borders. WITHDRAW ALL ISRAELI TROOPS FROM NEIGHBOURING COUNTIRES! End the illegal invasion, illegal occupation, illegal indiscriminate bombing of neighours. ISRAEL MUST LEAVE PALESTINE NOW. AID TO GAZA IMMEDIATELY. ISRAEL IS THE PROBLEM!!!
