So last week I made a Reddit post asking you guys where in NI I should visit that’s close to the border (seeing as I’m from RoI). After careful consideration, I decided to travel to Newry and do some shopping in the Quays. Then I headed to the Flagstaff View Point and took some pictures of the beautiful view of Carlingford Lough. Had a very productive day, thanks to everyone who suggested going to Newry and the surrounding areas.

  1. The best picture there is actually Warrenpoint 😂

  2. Fucking hell, welcome to the NI sub. Imagine someone said something positive.

I’m glad you had a good time and enjoyed your day, there are plenty more places close to Newry that you can enjoy. Warrenpoint, Rostrevor for beautiful scenic areas for example.

We do hope you come back too.

  3. Newry is just like every town or city, it has its good points and bad points.

  4. If you are around there again and enjoy a hike, check out both Slieve Gullion and  Rostrevor.

  5. There is some class scenery around Newry, south Armagh and south down. It really is worth a look. But as for Newry as a city,it falls way short. Nowhere near the level you’d expect of a modern city/town. Surrounding places like Dundalk and banbridge have surpassed it.
