Watch out Harry and Meghan, Princess Beatrice is on your home turf! Well, we think so anyway. Over the weekend, the cousin of Prince Harry, Princess Beatrice flew to the US to celebrate the wedding of a friend, according to reports.

Does this mean she may have called in at the House of Sussex in California? Here is everything you need to know…

Princess Beatrice was reportedly in attendance of a New York wedding on October 4. The princess celebrated the marriage of her long-time friend James Green. James Green wed his husband James Hirschfeld in Long Island on Saturday.

In a snap shared to social media by a fellow guest, Beatrice was reportedly seen rocking a sparkling black dress. The princess could be seen smiling beside the newlyweds.

The reception took place in a large and lavish tent with flowers, candles and sparkling lanterns.

A photo of the wedding menu also shared to Instagram stories detailed that the lucky guests enjoyed mushroom risotto and branzino.

For dessert they finished their meal with raspberry pavlova. Yum!

Beatrice and James Green have been close pals for a number of years. In June 2004, when Beatrice was 16 and James was 17, they were snapped (you can see the image, here) at the Stella Artois tennis championship at London’s Queen’s Club.

James’ hubby, also named James (Hirschfeld), is known as one of the co-founders of the popular online invite company Paperless Post.

Is Princess Beatrice close to Meghan Markle?

Amid the celebrations, Beatrice was of course in the US. In fact, she was just hours away from Harry and Meghan’s home state of California.

This begs the question: “Did Beatrice drop in on her cousin and his family?”

Well, nothing has been said of a potential reunion. But we do know that Beatrice shares a relationship with Harry and Meghan.

In fact, earlier this year, following the birth of her second child, a daughter, Athena, it was guessed that Beatrice probably extended an olive branch to the Sussexes.

After welcoming her bundle of joy, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond mused to The Mirror that it’s likely that Beatrice may have “pinged a picture or two [of Athena] to Harry and Meghan,” to keep them in the loop.

Bond also guessed that the welcoming of a new little royal could slightly increase the chance of Harry and Meghan reconnecting with their relatives.

Princess Beatrice’s ‘olive branch’ to Harry and Meghan

“I don’t think it will hasten a visit by them to the UK, but perhaps if charity work or business brings Harry this way he’ll be keen to meet his new cousin,” she said.

Since then, we know, of course, that Harry has seemingly reconnected with his father, King Charles, despite rumours of a rift after Harry fled the UK to live in Montecito with his wife.

Other royal experts have guessed that Beatrice is probably a peacemaker between Harry and Meghan and the wider Firm.

“[Princess] Beatrice could act as a peacemaker for Harry, William, and Charles,” Grant Harrold reportedly claimed.

“She would be someone to initiate peace in the family. She’s close to both William and Harry, as well as the King—and they trust her.”
