    A summons has been placed in the Register of Summonses in your name.
    You can find the date of appearance and the address of the military commissariat in your personal account in the Register of Summonses.
    The summons is considered delivered after 7 days from the moment of its placement in the Register of Summonses — p. 2 art. 31 of the Law on Military Duty and Military Service.
    From the day the summons is placed in the Register of Summonses as a restriction aimed at ensuring your appearance at the military commissariat, you are prohibited from leaving Russia — p. 1 art. 7.1 of the Law on Military Duty and Military Service.

    * ban on registration as an individual entrepreneur

    * suspension of actions for the state registration of real estate and its cadastral registration
    * restrictions on driving motor vehicles
    * ban on registration of motor vehicles
    * refusal to grant credits and loans

Imagine if any government in a western country launched an unprovoked invasion ( yeah, I know, but hear me out) and then three years later there were huge fuel shortages, tens/ hundreds of thousands of dead and injured, cities were being hit night after night with drone attacks, mass exodus of persons to avoid being conscripted… and all of the rest of the real and tangible signs that everything is going to shit…and the same leader who had been in charge since John Major was PM in Britain and Bill Clinton was president in the US was still in charge… FFS what the fuck is wrong with Russia and Russians?

  12. So Putin starts giving up the last Russian safe spaces. Drafting people from the capital will lead to concerns among the population that is not used to being affected by the war. Soon enough the fuel crises will reach the big cities as well. The heart of Russia will feel what it means to be at war and other than the rural population the city people will ask what’s in for them if there’s just hardships. Putin won’t be able to provide a good answer for that and that is the point where his inner circle could turn against him.

  18. Is this just the regular draft which happens twice a year? If so it’s not news. Russia drafts 18 year olds but they don’t fight in Ukraine (except those recruited in occupied territories)

    If they are conscripting to fight in Ukraine that’s a different matter – there would be major resistance – but I’m not seeing any indication in the story that’s the case.

It’s ok shouting online about supporting the Russian invasion and being part of the anti Nazi campaign but understanding that you will soon be on a frontline somewhere eating shit and drinking contaminated water waiting for your colleagues to die before you get a gun and decent boots should deter many ….

  29. Propaganda, this is standard notice to sent to everyone when they turn 18. Draftees are not sent to Ukraine, only volunteers and convicts.

    Putin is in a shitty position, the most realistic timeline for ending the war favorably for Russia is fighting for another 2-3 YEARS. Meanwhile, every day the war continues benefits *Ukraine* since they have a much more stable government and military.

    The Putin regime is in a dire fucking circumstances right now, so he doesn’t have too much to lose with this. His best chance might be to try to break the Ukie defenses as quickly as possible no matter the cost
