  1. So weird to hear some guy waxing poetic about “our ancestors” when it comes to the internet. Where some of this is obviously not wrong, it also is framed in a very silly way that I bet he thought sounded dramatic.

  2. >Durov turned 41 on Friday and used the occasion to highlight his concerns about the future of the internet. In his post on X (formerly Twitter), Durov cited the ‘dystopian’ measures taken by many countries like the UK, Australia, Germany, and the EU.

The internet is dying with each passing day. More and more bots are infesting every corner of the internet, more and more people are paid to spread propaganda, and on top of that, governments are limiting the access to certain websites/pages.

We will reach at one point where only bots and propaganda machines will participate in conversations.

Search engines are also dead thanks to the SEO morons who are spending tens of thousands of dollars to build their networks with high authority, and of course, thanks to the companies who owns these search engines and their pandering to the SEO morons.

[In 2024, 51% of all the internet traffic was generated by bots and that number grows every year](https://www.independent.co.uk/tech/bots-internet-traffic-ai-chatgpt-b2733450.html).. so, yeah.

  3. He is aware that his platform is where a majority of bot makers reside? I don’t know, maybe it’s just the circles I run in, but if I want to use bots or do something shady, all the places to get the tools to get started or find someone are on Telegram.
