BUTTE, Mont. – As heavy snowfall is expected this weekend, NorthWestern Energy is urging residents to prioritize safety and prepare for the upcoming winter storm.
According to a press release from NorthWestern Energy today, the company is committed to maintaining reliable energy service during Montana’s changing seasons.
“Our job is to deliver the energy our customers rely on safely and reliably—especially through Montana’s changing seasons,” said Jason Merkel, NorthWestern Energy Vice President of Distribution.
Merkel highlighted the company’s efforts to strengthen infrastructure, including vegetation management and replacing poles and lines across 25,000 miles of power lines.
NorthWestern Energy serves 224 communities and rural areas across Montana. Crews are ready to respond quickly to any outages and will work efficiently to restore service.
The National Weather Service predicts significant snow accumulation in several areas. Residents are encouraged to report downed or damaged power lines immediately and keep a safe distance of at least 30 feet.
Safety tips during the storm include avoiding downed power lines, preparing emergency kits with essentials, and staying informed with NorthWestern Energy’s outage updates.
