From 15 October, ITVX viewers can enjoy a view usually reserved for astronauts. The new channel, Space Live, will show continuous 4K footage of Earth, captured directly from the International Space Station.
The project comes from a partnership between ITV Studios and British space media company Sen. Using Sen’s advanced SpaceTV-1 camera, mounted on the European Space Agency’s Columbus module, the stream will show clear, cinematic shots of the planet below, from glowing coastlines to sweeping cloud formations.
Making Space Accessible To Everyone
Sen’s founder and CEO, Charles Black, said: “Sen was founded to democratise space through video. Partnering with ITV Studios brings our vision to life – giving millions of people the chance to see Earth exactly as astronauts see it.”
His company’s mission has always been to open space to the public. Through Space Live, that dream becomes reality. Now, anyone can look down at Earth from orbit, anytime.
A New Kind Of Streaming Experience
Developed by ITV Studios’ digital label Zoo 55, Space Live offers something different from traditional shows. Instead of drama or documentaries, viewers get a constant, real-time look at Earth. Every orbit reveals something new: deserts, oceans, lightning storms and cities glowing in the night.
As audiences search for calm, inspiring content, Space Live meets that demand. It combines high-end technology with natural beauty, creating a stream that’s both relaxing and awe-inspiring. Moreover, it positions ITVX and Sen as pioneers in a new era of immersive media.
Looking Beyond The UK
Space Live will debut on ITVX in the UK, but Sen plans to bring it to more streaming platforms worldwide soon.
