Croatia has once again earned international recognition, being named the 8th best country in the world in the 2025 Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards.

The annual awards, now in their 37th year, are based entirely on votes from readers of the prestigious travel publication. Over 750,000 readers from around the world took part this year, sharing their favourite travel destinations, experiences, and hidden gems.

Croatia secured its place among the world’s top 10 destinations with an impressive score of 91.56, reflecting its continued popularity with global travellers.

The top spot went to Japan with a score of 95.36, followed by Greece, Portugal, and Italy.

Croatia was also recognised in other categories of the awards, with Hvar earning a place among the Best Islands in Europe, reaffirming its reputation as one of the continent’s most beloved coastal destinations.
