(NEWS 15) — Saturday, October 11, is Election Day across Louisiana. The polls opened at 7 a.m. and will close at 8 p.m.
While most of the items are millage renewals, there are some races on ballots, including police chief in a couple of Acadiana towns.
Two of the highlighted millage renewals are the ones in Lafayette for the school district and Bayou Vermilion District.
In addition to Lafayette, there are elections in Acadia, Evangeline, St. Landry, and St. Mary parishes.
