Greece ranked seventh among Europe’s busiest airspaces, with an average of 2,089 flights per day, for the week of September 29 – October 5, according to the latest report by Eurocontrol.
Compared to the previous week, air traffic in this country decreased by 8%, however, it remains 7% higher than 2024 and 26% above 2019 levels.
The decline recorded then was mainly due to the transition from the summer to the fall flight schedule and the seasonal decline in tourism, which mainly affects airlines with a strong presence on routes to island and holiday destinations.
Greece also accounted for 11% of flight delays in Europe.
