The resolution declaring the vacancy of the presidency of the republic has been approved. After three disastrous years, it’s the end for Dina Bolwatte. MPs from across the spectrum, including former allies, have voted unanimously to remove the Peruvian presidents from office. Earlier, parliamentarians voiced their anger. Bulart is ignorant of matters of state and that bold and arrogant ignorance is a mockery to the country. During the session, Boloe was summoned before parliament, but did not appear. Peru’s sixth head of state in 9 years. Boloate came to power in 2022 after the last president was impeached. She’s one of the least popular leaders in the world, her term marked with protests and scandals. She’s the target of several corruption investigations and gang violence has surged under her watch. Official figures show more than 6,000 people were killed in the first half of the year, the highest number since 2017. A shooting at a concert in Lima hours before the parliament session may have sealed Baloate’s fate.

Peruvian lawmakers ousted President Dina Boluarte just after midnight Friday, ending a turbulent term marked by protests, corruption investigations, and rising crime. Following the vote, 38-year-old legislature head Jose Jeri took over as interim president, promising to lead until elections in April 2026.

  1. 🇵🇪🇵🇪🇵🇪As a Peruvian, I approve of this.

Dina didn't want to invest it in security. She preferred to use the money to save bankrupt companies like Petro Peru.

  2. Unfortunately, the Peruvian Congress is a real rat's nest. The whole theatrics they staged by removing Boluarte had already been planned.
