What’s the best lesser-known or forgotten piece of royal drama that you know?

  1. People seem to have forgotten that Sophie tried to sell access to the royal family

  2. I posted this on another sub a few months ago, but my favorite saga was when the press in about 2010 entirely made up a story about Kate owning a dog she didn’t own, and that she dug through the imaginary dog’s poop for a specific pair of pearl earrings supposedly given to her by William because Otto the imaginary dog had eaten them. It was one of these stories that each press outlet added details to until it came out that Kate did not own a dog at all. This [Wikipedia](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Otto_Middleton_(or_why_newspapers_are_dubious_sources)) page about it (including a section entitled “Earring Scandal”) is worth a read.

  3. How about David Lindley trading drugs for sex with male courtiers.

  4. After Edward did that art documentary I was certain he was never going anywhere.
