  1. Talking isn’t enough. Every politicians who lied about the benefits that they had no control over, needs to be held accountable.

  2. Could’ve talked about it sooner if you had anything resembling a spine, Wes.

  3. Fuck off. You’re only talking about it cause you need another scapegoat to blame your tax rises and spending.

Everyone knows Brexit is a shit show. Where were you the last few years?

  4. And the politician who propelled Brexit the most is now leading the political popularity polls. The electorate has not learned a damn thing since Brexit and is now poised and ready to elect into power the same people who duped them with Brexit.

  5. Should have been talking about it earlier!

Starmer shouldn’t have supported Boris’ Bad Deal, abstain and it would have got through anyway.

Should have been blaming brexit and Tories/UKIP/Reform for the post brexit surge in immigration, pre-brexit net-migration was around 250k annually, post brexit it surged. Before the liars get here Boris did and election deal with Farage in 2019 – both are culpable.

Starmer and Labour should have held the feet of the brexit advocates to the fire for the damage they’ve done. But didn’t so lost the support of pro-Europeans and doing this now makes it look like sour grapes.

  6. So we’re now on phase 2 of passing the buck? Everyone’s got a bit bored of them blaming the Tories so now it’s on to Farage?

  7. If anything the damage doesn’t get talked about enough.

People who voted leave should, unironically, have a lifetime of I Told You So’s thrown their way and constantly be quoted the stats. You won. Own it.

  8. You always could have Wes, just you and Labour have been too chickenshit to do so

  9. So you are gonna reverse the damage by rejoining? Right, right?

  10. You were always able to talk about it Wes. You’re just too much of a coward to say something you think will be unpopular because like your PM, you haven’t got an ounce of integrity.

  11. I voted out and I regret it now, I was young. However the politicians lied to us and they’re the ones to blame not the voters.

I shall do my bit though by not voting in Farage at the next election

  12. Your party has a huge majority in parliament. Do something about it.

  13. who was stopping you before?

It was an act of self-harm to not talk about the damage of Brexit. The facts need repeating like a drum beat to get through all the morons thick skulls.

  14. This is EXACTLY the topic line they should be chasing right now, as pointing out Remain’s far-right leadership and policies will only get you dai far, but they need to deliver better on immigration promises (because that will remain the primary topic)

  15. Absolute cowards. They kept absolutely quiet about Brexit and the damage it caused until others – far braver than them – paved the way for a real discussion.

    Absolutely spineless.

  16. I wouldn’t want to talk about joining again though.

Tbh neither side handled the breakup well, even if we left in the most destructive way the EU wasn’t very amicable either. Going forward I wouldn’t want to lose our newfound autonomy if we actually try to make the best of it! 👍

  17. Labour will win the next election if they offer a vote on rejoining. They can fuck up and do what they want, with the vote split like it is, it will be a winning policy. But they’re trying to appeal to scum so it won’t happen.

  18. How about stop blaming each other and actually do something about it?

  19. You know I have a great idea if Labour want to improve their polling. How about a referendum?

  20. Mad to think we could literally re-join the EU and reap so many benefits

  21. And so it starts. This is a very very good thing but the political cynicism behind it is so so blatant. Labour are toast at the next election with Reform being the shiny new thing riding their flag shagging lying unicorn. The only combat to this for Labour is re-running the Brexit referendum as a General Election. Expect more and more pro-EU policy in the next few years with an announcement to have a rejoin referendum shortly after the GE if Labour win.

Strategically brilliant. Great that the media can all stop lying about Brexit by omission. Sad that the only thing motivating this is Labour trying to hang on to the reigns of power after governing from the centre right and alienating their base.

  22. Nothing to do with that European war or literally shutting down the country for the best part of a year? But maybe we’re not allowed to talk about lockdowns

Our peer countries in Europe have pretty much all the same problems as us despite being part of their precious European Union. Our problems, and their problems, are deep seated, not because we’re part of their sad little body

  23. I think we should join the EU. Sometime between Montenegro and Albania ideally

  24. I suppose they need something to blame, but the UK has grown on average slightly more than the EU over the past 20 years. Neither compare to the US, which has grown at over double the rate. If our politicians were serious about growth they’d be looking across the Atlantic.
