French ex-president Sarkozy to go to prison on October 21 • FRANCE 24 English

Nicolola Sakoi returned home with the knowledge that he only has one week of freedom left. According to French media reports, the former president will be sent to Paris’s Lassante prison next Tuesday, the 21st of October. On Monday, he arrived at the financial prosecutor’s office discreetly, hidden behind tinted windows. Neither he nor his lawyers wished to comment. The magistrates informed him that his prison conditions would be the same as those of other inmates. Three visits per week, a landline telephone in his cell, and two walks per day. For safety reasons, he’s expected to be housed in an area of the prison reserved for high-profile inmates. This is a wing of the jail where he will not encounter other prisoners and will be alone during walks in a courtyard where he cannot be photographed or accosted. Once behind bars, Zakozi will be able to file a release request to the appeals court. Judges will then have up to two months to decide on his application. As soon as you are imprisoned, you can file a request for release, which will be reviewed by the appeals court. There must be no risk of flight, no risk of pressure being exerted on witnesses or victims, and no risk of collusion between accompllices or co-perpetrators. If none of these risks exist or no longer exist, the court may decide to release the person. If the decision goes his way, the former president could be released before Christmas and stand trial in his appeal expected in the coming months as a free man.

Former French president Nicolas Sarkozy will serve jail time at a Paris prison from October 21, informed sources told AFP Monday, after a court last month sentenced him to five years behind bars for criminal conspiracy.

  1. After EVERY French President approved of the Enslavement, Rales , Murders & Theft of African Nations; This is a slap on the fingertips. EVERY EUROPEAN Nations President/Kings should be put to death for the deaths they've caused.
