Granted, maybe it's on me to have expected more from Belfast Live or Facebook, but holy fuck this is disheartening to see.

I'm imagining those kids being told somebody was going to do an article about their comic celebrating how we're all different, them being all excited about it and then when it's finally posted, these are the comments on it, from adults too.

Maybe the kids are the only hope we have, but if this is what's rearing them then we're fucked for another generation or so.

  6. I have an issue with your one saying about how our history is ‘racist’ and ‘far right’.

    It isn’t. Its the people that hijack it and twist it for their own means that are racist and far right. Like, how would anyone think a story like that of Cú Chulainn or Finn McCool is racist?

    In my opinion, the more that mods think they can drown out peoples opinions by deleting comments and banning people, the more shocked redditors such as yourself will be when they leave their bubble and realise what the majority opinion on mass immigration is.

  9. Its sad but not that surprising. We have segregation within our own communities, and a culture of only accepting our own. Ofc things have gotten better, but in some parts of NI that mindset very much persists

  15. I wonder if any of them have been to England…you know that place where their royal family lives. Where they get a 2.7% say in the Government. It’s a pretty fucking diverse place.

  17. The rejection of diversity is due to a fear people have of being a minority or an outcast. If society accepts and celebrates diversity, then the majority is no longer “the majority.” These commenters will be a minority, and they know how minorities have been treated.
