Real estate prices in Krakow are already higher than in Rome. And that’s just the beginning.

  1. “That’s just the beginning”

OP, beginning of this shitshow was years ago

  2. Bro, Warsaw is marked here as the cheapest, their methodology is just not good.

  3. I think this is not super accurate overall, because we don’t generally rent 100m+ places, so there aren’t that many that are affordable. Try comparing like 50-70m (I bet it will be less drastic but still shit)

  4. 100m flats are really rare in general. My relative had a flat of this size and the only renters were very wealthy foreigners, so the price wasn’t aligned with the average market overall. If you can rent a 100m flat you can probably buy your own flat or even house.

I’d be curious to see this map for 40-60m flats.

  5. Why there is no data from Ireland?
It would be interesting to see how it comapres with rest of EU…

  6. Yeah it’s nuts. I have a 100 m2 apartment in Scotland and it costs about the same as in many CEE cities. I am from Romania where apartments are some of the cheapest in Europe, but relative to income, still less affordable than here.

  7. Combined with just HOW ridiculous interest rates are for a Central European country, yikes. I always wonder how do young people manage.
What’s the average age of leaving one’s family home these days?
For my generation it was around 23-25, but that was 15 years ago.

  8. Thus is BS map. In Bydgoszcz you can rent 100m2 for 30% of one person average salary so that all is BS.

And this doesn’t show where flats are more expensive. If you think so, would you rent a 100m2 flat in Rome and work remotely in Cracow? I thought so.
