NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) -Thursday evening will be the final meeting where Midtown residents and business owners can discuss creating a new “Business Improvement District” (MBID).
The MBID would be the first one in the downtown Nashville area.
According to Metro Councilmember Jacob Kupin, a BID is a “geographic area where property owners collectively invest in supplemental services, funded by a self-imposed assessment and governed by those who pay it.”

Here are instructions on how to watch WSMV4 live on various platforms.
Kupin said BIDs have been proven effective in more than 1,200 districts across the US in boosting “cleanliness, safety and economic vitality.”
Thursday’s public meeting will be held at 6 p.m. The location of it will be shared with you after registering to attend the meeting, which you can do here.
Following Thursday’s meeting, the MBID proposal’s first reading at Metro Council will be during its Nov. 4 meeting.
For more information on the MBID, you can visit Councilmember Kupin’s website.
