Rafael de Medina y Abascal, 20th Duke of Feria, belongs to one of the most important families of Spain, the House of Medinaceli, being a grandson of Victoria Eugenia Fernández de Córdoba, 18th Duchess of Medinaceli. He is the son of Rafael de Medina y Fernández de Córdoba, the late 19th Duke of Feria and the Spaniard top-model Natividad Abascal y Romero-Toro, more commonly known as Naty Abascal.

He married on October 16, 2010, at the Palace-Hospital de Tavera (Toledo), owned by the Dukes of Medinaceli, to his longtime girlfriend, Laura Vecino de Acha, daughter of Laura de Acha y Satrústegui and Ramón Vecino Gay, granddaughter of Laura de Satrústegui Figueroa, who is genealogically linked to many families of the Spanish aristocracy.

Although Naty Abascal, the groom's mother, was a close friend of Valentino and Armani, Laura Vecino preferred Giambattista Valli to design a princess dress with a boat neckline, draped bodice, and a voluminous brocade skirt. Holding her veil, Laura wore the ducal tiara of the Medinaceli family.

Rafael and Laura became parents to twins on November 26, 2012, a boy (Rafael) and a girl (Laura), who were delivered by C-section.

  1. Beautiful couple. I think she looks even prettier after the birth of her babies.

  2. I remember seeing the wedding coverage on a magazine years ago and thinking she made a gorgeous bride and her wedding dress was so beautiful. It was simple but so elegant, and the tiara/coronet completed the whole look 🤩

  3. Now that’s a dress and a look! Wow. Easily one of the top ten dresses from a Duchess

  4. I remember the mother in the green dress and white mantilla/peineta! Stunning outfit.

The bride’s look is beautiful too. What a lovely wedding.

  5. That’s one of the prettiest wedding dresses I’ve seen from a royal wedding.

  6. Unrelated: am I reading the captions right and seeing they called their twins their own names, Rafael and Laura??

    That’s messed up.

  7. Those Spanish aristocrats are so damn good-looking! The groom’s uncle the Duke of Segorbe married Princess Maria da Glória of Brazil (ex-wife of the crown prince of Yugoslavia) and had two daughters with her who are both countesses. I admit that I don’t fully understand how subsidiary titles of Spanish peerages are split among descendants.
