TIL Goscinny’s death occurred part-way through the writing of “Astérix chez les Belges” / “Asterix en de Belgen”. Uderzo drew the last panel on page 32 and all but the last panel on page 33 with grey skies and rain to mark the point Goscinny died.

  3. The crying bunny at the ending banquet is also a tribute because ~~Goscinny’s wife used to call him~~ “mon lapin” (my bunny)

    EDIT: it was Goscinny himself calling his wife “mon lapin”, not the way around.

    It is sad, but also very moving.
