Industrial production in Moldova grew by 3.3% year-on-year in August 2025, easing from an upwardly revised 6.4% expansion in the previous month.

The slowdown was mainly due to lower output for mining and quarrying (-1.3% vs -4.6% in July) and electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (-5.7% vs 0.9%).

Additionally, production growth softened in the manufacturing sector (4.1% vs 7.2%).

On a monthly basis, industrial output dropped by 4% in August, reversing from an 8.7% increase in the preceding period.
