October 20 – The Croatian Football Federation (HNS) and STATSports have agreed a partnership which sees STATSports become the official supplier of GPS systems for the Croatian FA.
HNS is joining a global network of football associations that use STATSports technology for performance analysis and is the same technology trusted by Premier League champion Liverpool, Champions League winner Paris Saint-Germain, as well as national federations including England and Portugal.
The partnership comes at a time when Croatian football is experiencing its most successful period in history. The senior men’s national team achieved two consecutive World Cup qualifications and won two medals – silver in 2018 and bronze in 2022. The Federation continues to develop elite players through one of the most respected youth development systems in Europe.
“The collaboration with STATSports allows us to introduce consistency in the work of all national teams, thus raising the standards for peak performance – from the younger ages right up to the senior team. For our young players, long-term tracking of physical development is crucial to prepare them for the demands of elite football. At the senior level, real-time data on load, recovery, and rehabilitation helps coaches and medical staff optimize training, reduce injury risk, and achieve maximum readiness on match day,” said the Technical Director of the A and U-21 national teams, Stipe Pletikosa.
As part of the partnership, HNS will use Sonra Cloud, a data management solution for the STATSports system. Sonra Cloud enables the secure and centralised collection and access to player data across all age groups and national teams, ensuring continuity in tracking athlete development.
This allows for seamless monitoring of players from the youth teams all the way up to national first team, without gaps in performance. Coaching staffs will have access to real-time data.
“We are proud to collaborate with one of the most successful football nations in recent history. It is clear that Croatia has a strong commitment to player development and performance excellence, and the use of STATSports technology provides all selections – from youth to senior – with the best possible conditions for success,” said STATSports co-founder, Sean O’Connor.
