Iran-Iraq coop must lead to unity in Muslim world

Mahdi Jamalinejad made the remarks in at the opening ceremony of the international conference on “building, reconstructing and development of holy shrines” held at Isfahan University, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

 

He said the cooperation between Tehran and Baghdad must go beyond construction projects and the path of building new Islamic civilization from Mashhad to Karbala is outlined.

 

He noted that the development of the holy shrines must be accompanied by promotion of cultural projects including the culture of pilgrimage.

 

Jamalinejad asserted a review of the joint history of Tehran and Baghdad for establishment of Iran-Iraq “joint control center” is a mandate so that it sets an example for unity across the world of Islam.

 

Also speaking in this ceremony, Ayatollah Sayyed Yousef Tabatabaeinejad said,” Shia reflects the Islamic civilization through his behavior” adding that,” To follow rationality in expressing affection for Ahlul Bayt (AS) is a mandate; therefore, one should not behave in a way that this rational side of Islam is tarnished.”
