From inside the notorious Evin Prison, the courageous voice of political prisoner Shahin Zhoghitabar has emerged, delivering a powerful message of defiance that cuts through the regime’s propaganda and reaffirms the Iranian people’s unwavering commitment to freedom. Despite facing a new 10-year prison sentence on fabricated charges and suffering from severe health complications due to inhumane conditions, his message is a testament to the unbreakable spirit of resistance that the clerical dictatorship has failed to crush. His words are not merely those of one man, but a reflection of a nation held hostage, fighting for its liberation.

A message from the heart of the mullahs’ dungeons

In a recorded message from Evin Prison dated October 22, 2025, Shahin Zhoghitabar directly addresses the leaders of the Iranian Resistance and the heroic Resistance Units, exposing the regime’s latest tactics and clarifying the people’s political vision.

In the name of God and the heroic people of Iran.
Greetings to Massoud [Rajavi] and Maryam [Rajavi].
Greetings to the heroic Resistance Units.

This is Shahin Zhoghitabar, contacting you from Evin Prison. I was previously a political prisoner for five years and was arrested again on August 2, 2025, by the IRGC Intelligence.

Like all the people of Iran, I am one of the hostages of the terrorist IRGC. In this short time since my re-arrest, I have encountered a new line of the mullahs’ Gestapo in interrogations and prison conditions, which I want to share with the people of Iran.

The notorious Ministry of Intelligence and the terrorist IRGC are attempting, in a sinister plot, to place the People’s Mojahedin Organization and the heroic Resistance Units alongside Israel and the monarchist movement.

To the extent of my understanding as a PMOI supporter and a political prisoner, I found it necessary to clarify the political red line of the Iranian people with the slogan, “Death to the oppressor, be it the Shah or the Supreme Leader.” This is a central slogan that the people of Iran have chanted in the streets of Iran.

I emphasize again: the only path to liberation is Mrs. Rajavi’s Third Option, the path of the Mojahedin, and the path of the Resistance Units. The main war is between the people of Iran and the anti-human mullahs’ regime.

I and other political prisoners will certainly stand with the people of Iran until our last drop of blood, until the moment of the overthrow of the notorious mullahs’ regime.

In the hope of the freedom of the Iranian people.

October 22, 2025.

I request that this voice be published and broadcasted on the PMOI’s website and Simay Azadi and its affiliated channels.

The price of defiance: A decade in prison for fabricated crimes

Shahin Zhoghitabar’s bravery comes at a great cost. Following a sham trial on August 17, 2025, at Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, presided over by the notorious judge Iman Afshari, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison. The verdict, formally delivered on September 30, was based on a slew of baseless accusations: five years for “assembly and collusion against the system,” four years for “membership and support of the PMOI,” and one year for “propaganda against the system.”

Security agencies fabricated the entire case without a shred of credible evidence. The so-called crimes included peaceful activities such as “meeting with families of PMOI members,” “slogan-writing,” and “distributing flyers.” His violent arrest on August 2, 2025, by IRGC Intelligence agents, who raided his home without a warrant, underscores the regime’s lawlessness. Initially transferred to the brutal Fashafuyeh Prison, the inhumane and unhygienic conditions there caused him to develop a severe kidney ailment and swelling in his legs. Now in Evin Prison, he continues to be denied adequate medical treatment.

A history of resistance: The regime’s long-standing fear

This is not the first time the regime has targeted Shahin for his activism. In 2013, he was arrested for “insulting Khamenei” and sentenced to six years in prison. He served four of those years in Evin and Gohardasht prisons before his release on February 7, 2018. During his previous imprisonment, he was renowned among fellow inmates for his resilience and for actively protesting the illegal conduct of prison authorities, which often led to his transfer to solitary confinement. His unwavering commitment to defending the rights of political prisoners is precisely why the regime fears him and has targeted him once again.

His message shows that while the regime can imprison activists like Shahin Zhoghitabar, but it cannot imprison their spirit or their ideas. His voice from Evin is the voice of millions who refuse to be silenced. It is a powerful reminder that despite maximum repression, the movement for a free and democratic Iran is organized, resilient, and advancing toward its goal.
