“good now we cut down all of it 💸💲💸💲💰💰💰”
This sub reddit is always a morale booster.
Seems like we better chop those forests down to protect the environment.
Wood industry, **separated from wild forests** is a great carbon sink.
Another important step is forests expansion.
In general old growth forests are great oxygen producers and more important for ecosystem stability and biodiversity, but strictly as Carbon sink new growth is way better.
So yeah, long term wood products and most importantly forest expansion are key focus points of climate policies.
So, to summarize, trees are dying, and forests are shrinking due to climate change. Thus releasing more CO2 than young trees can capture.
Just like there are more old people than young people so we can’t sustain the retirement of old people.
But.. GDP must grow…
I get tired of these articles about how forests are emitting carbon dioxide. Wonder if the capitalist douche bags push articles like these instead of anti fossil fuel articles.
I guess fossil fuel emissions get a free pass, as usual?
Like I’m pretty sure fossil fuels are the source of all this turmoil.
