In Luxembourg, at the EU Council meeting, they will consider options to increase Ukrainian exports to the EU to support the country’s economy by expanding trade opportunities.

Prior to the meeting, Danish Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries Jakob Jensen presented the information.

“We have already held talks with Ukraine about trade and will continue discussing trade in general, but on behalf of the Danish presidency of the Council of the EU we will try to focus on how to help Ukrainians increase their trade with the EU, and thus support their economy”

Meeting plans and discussion participants

The event will be attended by Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Taras Kachka.

Among the topics of discussion is the concept of the ‘green architecture,’ with an emphasis on what incentives farmers can receive under the EU’s climate rules to move toward more environmentally friendly production.

On the agenda are also issues related to generational renewal and actively engaging young people in the EU’s agricultural sector.

This month, Ukraine and the EU partially lifted tariffs and increased quotas on exports of agricultural products to the EU.
