This needs to be done. Driving at night is now seriously dangerous with these extremely bright headlights. I get a fechen headache with the intensity of oncoming bright lights. The beams seem to be automatically set too high.
Make it a quick review.
Yes my windscreen is clean.
No I don’t have an astigmatism.
Yes I have anti glare coating on my spectacles.
No I am not staring at the oncoming traffic, but instead looking at the road ahead of me.
and yes (unlike when I learnt to drive 25 years ago) *I am still getting regularly blinded*
Yeah, reasonable.
I’m sure a lot of drivers with LEDs so bright they can blind you even during the day won’t be happy but it’s a massive nuisance. And it’s unfair on other drivers
Love it when I flash my lights to let someone know they have their full beams on, only for them to flash their lights showing that no, they do not have their full beams on actually, their lights are just stupidly bright to begin with 🙄
Cyclists with 1000 lumen strobe lights thinking they are special and happy to go around causing seizures even in the middle of the day are more of an issue than this.
Car lights are obscenely bright though and should be toned down.
Britain can review them all they like. Who cares about a poor little country?
And the manufacturers will just pass the blame onto the driver and say the headlights are improperly adjusted and can be directed downward to avoid the glare. It’s bullshit, they are unnecessarily bright, but also wankers are buying huge SUV’s for no bloody good reason at all, vans are taller by necessity, and only about 1 in 50 people seem to know that headlights are adjustable and only 1 in 100 of those even give a shit enough to aim them downwards. All this will lead to nothing happening, again. Properly adjusted headlights should be a condition of passing MOT, but I would like to see a limit on brightness even though it wont happen.
