Trump’s global influence is waning – just look at how Putin treats him

President Trump is known and feared for his swagger on the global stage.
But this conceals a fair degree of stagger from a man whose power is weakened by a combination of vanity and impatience.

His geo-political version of *The* *Apprentice* finale in the sands of Sharm el-Sheik was on the surface [an extraordinary display of global fealty](https://inews.co.uk/opinion/gaza-peace-deal-sham-3992456?srsltid=AfmBOoqAlYWnTG-CkL52CpTmgpZcuKYSQY-Tmjj9_cxKlg_UMJaWwPgK&ico=in-line_link). Leaders from our Prime Minister to the Indonesian President were summoned to the stage like extras in a Trump movie to pay homage to the great peacemaker. It was as impressive as it was cringe worthy.

But, as Trump likes to say when it comes to peace: it takes two to tango. A glaring absence from the stage was a dance partner without whom no tango can happen. And that was Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu. A more powerful president would have forced Netanyahu to come and shake hands with the President of the Palestinian authority Mahmoud Abbas.

American power is not what it used to be. A boastful Trump would beg to differ, but Trump’s grandiloquence inevitably sets him up for failure.

  2. Are we really measuring **world** influence of a head of state specifically how Putin treats that head of state?

  3. Yeah sure bro, thats why everyone acts so nice around him…

  4. I sincerely believe that Russia’s recent, hostile attitude toward the US is the symptom of trying to resist the influence of Trump. Up to this point, Trump had no influence whatsoever over Russia.

But globally… damn. It’s hard to measure. For instance: Milei’s recent victory in Argentina can be read as Trump’s influence.

  5. When are people going to realize Trump is an agent of influence and loyal to Putin.

That doesn’t mean everything he does has to help Russia that would be too supicious but the bulk of what he does. Does help and turns the GOP into a more pro Russian party.

Also, Putin would be sure to stroke Trump’s egos and pay him well and put ideas into his head for the US to focus it’s energy on domestic rivals and countries that will bog the US down in endless conflict like Mexico and Venezuela and to invade Greenland thus ending NATO via attacking Denmark. Putin would also prefer the US under Trump control the Canadian Arctic. These are not all accidental and American monroe doctrine and White Nationalism with Christian nationalism can help Russia.

  6. Yet Trump needs his EOs read to him, he has no clue what he’s signing half the time.

  7. All these UK based articles about Trump and Putin seem like they’ve been written with AI.

  8. Putin’s global influence is waning. Dramatically
